Ephesus Domitian street

Ephesus Domitian street

Two column drums decorated with figures stand on either side of the road leading from the prytaneion to Domitian Street. One side of the column drum to the left shows the naked figure of Hermes. In one hand, he holds the caduces symbol; with the other, he is holding the horn of a ram that is standing next to him.

On the other side of this drum, one can see a cauldron with three feet, with snakes between its feet. On the column drum to the right, the naked Hermes appears again, holding the head of a goat. The other side shows a tripod with trays between its feet.
